C. 1911 | EGIN | SILVER OPEN FACE | LEVER ESCAPEMENT
Up for sale is beautiful American Elgin open face with fancy dial pocket watch, lever escapement, dial crack and minute hand damaged, re-cased, watch is in running condition but sluggish and accuracy not timed, SOLD-AS-IS item! Please refer to all the photos/descriptions.

DESCRIPTION:
Year : C. 1911
Size : 50 mm, excluding stem.
Case : Re-Case 800 Silver with full Swiss hallmark, engine tuning with vacant cartouche in the middle, it has a hinged back & bezel and all works fine, case closure shut tightly, inner back stamped "0800 52" with silver hallmarks, dirty with stains/marks and scratches, normal dent & wear.
Crystal : Plastic - seems it was glued to the bezel.
Dial : Fancy enamel dial with hairline and cracks, dirty with stains. Beautiful gold? hands set but the minute hand is broken and show signs of repair work. Black Arabic numerals with outer minutes scale and subsidiary seconds dial.
Movement : Pendant wind and set, beautiful nickel damascened movement(16S Model 7 Grade 313), lever escapement with 15 jewels, running condition but accuracy not timed, compensation balance with blue steel hairspring, balance staff is OK, signed "ELGIN NAT'L WATCH CO. U.S.A. 15 JEWELS 15349935". Dirty with marks/stains, BROKEN ratchet wheel screw so the ratchet wheel may fall out easily.
Overall a beautiful pocket watch and believe that it will be a stunning great and beautiful gem after replacement with a suitable case & glass.
