19th CENTURY | ENGLISH SILVER HUNTER CASE | WM. CROSBY LONDON | LEVER ESCAPEMENT
Up for sale is beautiful silver hunter case pocket watch, dial signed "WM. CROSBY LONDON TRADE MARK", lever escapement movement, watch is in running condition but a little bit sluggish, accuracy not timed, case has some dent & wear, missing glass crystal and the front cover hinge is loose, SOLD-AS-IS item! DESCRIPTION:
Year : circa 19th Century
Size : Approximately 50mm, excluding stem.
Case : 925 Sterling silver case with full English hallmarks and marked "90961 J.H", dirty with stains and scratches, front cover hinge is loose (open at about 120 degree) and minor oxidation are found, minor dent and wear, other hinges and catches are all working fine but not shut tight very well.
Crystal : MISSING.
Dial : White enamel dial with few faint hairline, few chips at 6 o'clock position, slightly dirty with stains, and there is a long light scratches across from 4 to 45 minute's position but it will be seen only in some angles. Signed "STEWART DAWSON & C°." with a logotype. Blue steel spade hands and second hand, minor damage at the tip of minute hand. Black Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial.
Movement : Key wind key set, lever escapement in running condition but sluggish certainly may need cleaning, accuracy not timed, gold? balance with blue steel hairspring, balance staff is OK, diamond endstone, caped jewel, comes with original gilt cuvette. Movement signed "WM. Crosby LONDON 96901 TRADE MARK REGISTERED" (Does NOT comes with key).
Overall a beautiful & descent pocket watch, believe that it will be a stunning great and beautiful gem after small repairment of the case and adding back a suitable glass.
