Ford launched its own effort to create a GT prototype in 1963. The most powerful of all the race cars participating in car races at the time wa the Ferrari, and though Ford made efforts to acquire Ferrari in order to be able to complete in the Le Mans, these efforts ended in failure. Thereafter, nothing the similarities to the Ferrari in the GT image and Eric Broadlay's Roala GT, Ford acquired the Roala GT and concluded a one-year contract with Broadlay to engage in the development of a Ford GT40 design. The GT40 revealed at the 1964 New York Auto Model Show had a semi-monocoque configuration, and it's height was a mere 40 inches. The Gt40 began to participate in racing 1964. This was the MK II, mounting a 7 lit. V8 engine of 485HP. This vehicle garnered a one-two-three finish in the Daytona 24-hour race, and in the same year beat the Ferrari hands down for another one-two-three finish for its first Le Mans Win. - info. from Fujimi instruction manual

Up for sale is a beautiful 1/24 Ford GT40 Mark II model kit. This is a legendary car driving by Ken Miles in 1966 24 hours Le Mans with #1 markings, kit comes with rubber tires and photo-etched parts, truly a wonderful kit made by Fujimi.

• Condition : Open box, unassembled.

• Box is in VERY POOR condition - box yellowed, very dirty with stains, shelf wear & dent, damaged side panel and was taped inside, scuff marks and scotch tape marks.

• Content : Complete, no missing parts, all parts are still sealed in plastic bags, scratches and damage on plastic bag, some parts has been separated from the sprue, please refer to the photos.

• Kit includes rubber tires and photo-etched parts.

• All tires seems in good(elastic) condition, still kept in factory sealed plastic bags.

• Decals seems in POOR condition- few dirt with stains and yellowing, not sure if it is working fine so buyers please put this into your consideration, please refer to the photos.

• Yellowed & dirty Instruction manual.

• The AAA-size battery appears in all photos are just for scale only, NOT included in this sales.

• A very impressive and beautiful kit. A must have item for both model builder and collector!
