1/16 SCALE READY TO ASSEMBLE KIT SUITABLE FOR RADIO CONTROL 

This is a kit of a motorized model tank which is suitable for radio control. The radio control unit itself is not contained in the kit and should be purchased separately. The model is basically designed to be controlled by the digital proportional type of system using two or more channels and servos, but a radio control unit of the single pushbutton type may also used. Alternatively the model may be run without any control system. The performance of the completed model will vary according to which system is adopted, as will the power source required. When fixing the radio control mechanism us the double sided sponge adhesive strip available for such use. 

<<Digital Proportion>> The digital proportional system is now widely used and is the most reliable for model use.it is comparatively easy to install and is recommended for those who wish to take radio control seriously. When this system is used in this model the tank should have a maximum speed of approx. 17m/min and negotiate a maximum incline of approx. 40 degrees. The motor power in this case is transmitted through the clutch mechanism and the direction of movement is controlled by their action. It is possible to execute slow turns by half engaging either clutch as well as forward and reverse and fast skid turns. Should the tracks be locked because of some obstruction the clutch discs will slip on each other, thus protecting the motors and gearbox. A source of power is required for the transmitter, receiver and other radio controlled items as well as for the tank motors. Which power source to use for the radio control system will be specified in the handbook for that system. For the tank motors we recommended either six alkaline Mn 1300 D batteries (or equivalent) or a 6v 4A rechargeable battery. Although initially more expensive, the rechargeable system is more economical in the end. If you use a rechargeable liquid type battery, be very careful that no electrolyte leaks on to the chassis as this will cause much damage.

<<Single Pushbutton>> whilst cheaper to buy, this is more difficult to operate and more limited in performance. With this system the maximum speed is approx. 10m/min and maximum incline of 40 degrees. By controlling the motion of the motors through the switch control mechanism it is possible to execute skid turns as well as forward and reverse movements. Power for the transmitter and receiver is as specified in the maker's handbook. Other batteries for the motors are required as for the proportional system.

<<Without Radio>> This model may be built and run without radio control. Forwards and reverse actions with some steering are possible. In this case only the D cell batteries or the 6v rechargeable battery is necessary.

Up for sale is a vintage, rare and important big scale RC 1/16 tank - the RT1601 "M4 Sherman 105mm Howitzer", kit comes with lots of metal parts, aluminium chassis, factory pre-assembled motor gearbox, die-cast drive sprocket wheel / suspension arms, rubber tyres and individual metal tracks...etc! This is a early suitable for radio control version so all electronic components/RC equipment are NOT included, box printed in English version and believe that it was sell in the US/Europe market, manufactured in the Oshika(小鹿) in 1976! Absolutely a awesome, beautiful and massive kit from early Tamiya. Unfortunately, the original tool bag has been opened and the grease/cement, wrench is MISSING, nevertheless this slight imperfection doesn't affect the finishing of model and it still considered as a important, highly collectible and rare Tamiya item.

• Condition : Open box, unassembled.

• Box is in VERY POOR condition, very dirty with stains, scratches, scuff marks, price tag, yellowed/faded side panel, box wear and dent, tape marks, minor damaged on long side panel. 

• Content : All parts has been carefully checked and confirm complete except for the tool bag has been opened(MISSING 1 grease/cement and the wrench), all other parts are still in factory sealed bags - unopened and untouched, minor scratches on plastic bag and some parts may separate from the sprue, 

• Kit comes with lots of metal parts - die cast drive sprockets / suspension arm and gearbox, all are kept in factory sealed plastic bag and blister pack.

• Powered by two 380 motor housed in factory pre-assembled gearbox.

• Aluminium chassis included.

• Individual metal tracks - very heavy!! (Tamiya produced 1/16 metal tracks for early models only)

• The tool bag has been opened - MISSING 1 x grease/cement and 1 x mini wrench but it does not affect the finishing of the model.

• All metal parts bag are still factory sealed.
